We retain student records for three years after course completion, after which they will be securely destroyed. It is the student’s responsibility to keep copies of all submitted documents for their records.

The cost is $1200 per student, and the course runs over 6 months, extensions are available if needed but students must complete within 12 months to remain on NCSP register of screeners. The clinical supervisors in the workplace need to be qualified cervical screeners, preferably been screening for 2 years and are regularly screening. This can be a nurse, NP or GP. The supervisor needs to be physically in the room with students for the entire consultations. The students are required to do 5 HPV and 10 LBC supervised consultations.

For the final clinical assessment, the regional students can nominate another senior screener who fits the supervisor criteria but has not been their supervisor. If you do not have a suitable person within your workplace to complete this final assessment, contact your local PHO for assistance to identify a suitable assessor.
