Dr Philip Cornish is a full-time Pain Specialist at the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, South Australia. Some of you will remember him from his days here in Blenheim where he ran the Pain Clinic with Andrea Corkhill. During that time, he became increasingly aware that Pain Medicine was about to undergo the same transformation which had overtaken Intensive Care Medicine, and accordingly he found a training position to achieve the FFPMANZCA last year. Flinders asked him to stay on, where he is now the Senior Consultant in the Pain Management Unit. He has also had a long academic interest in regional anaesthesia and airway management, with 22 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters, a winner of the Gilbert Brown Prize of the College of Anaesthetists and twice a winner of the John Ritchie Prize of the NZ Society of Anaesthetists. He is currently completing his M.D.
